Left to right, BCLG Chair Barbara Murray, OHS Executive Director Rob Leverty, BCLG Vice-Chair George Thomson and Treasurer Bruce Hoyle at the July 8 Membership Meeting held at the Beach Rescue Unit.  The BCLG has been affiliated with the OHS since 2004. The Society, founded in 1888, has the power, unique in North America, to make corporations of its member organizations.

The meeting heard that our  Business Plan, produced by the  team of Goldsmith Borgal and Company Architects  and Canadian Cultural Resource Consultants, has been finalized and will be presented to the City of Hamilton in the fall.

In other news, George Thomson and Barbara Murray completed BCLG’s application to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for a grant in aid of a short video production which will be used to develop awareness of the light station, its importance to the early development of the area, and its potential to become a living link with history for students and  other interested groups and individuals in Hamilton/Burlington.  A decision is expected in September.
